Maker: Pomeroy
This is a Pomeroy 1808 type contract made for Massachusetts. It is correctly marked "MASS" ahead of the hammer, and on the top of the barrel. The 42" barrel with correct ramrod. Pomeroy was a prolific maker in Pittsfield Mass. This gun is pictured twice in George Mollers Book, "American Military Shoulder Arms Vol II" on page 221.
