Rare Early Days Patent Truncheon pistol. Percussion gun is 12 bore. Serial number 76. Acts as a Truncheon. Also made of heavy brass with a massive Eagle head. This is an early one with serial number 76, the early ones did not have the Days Patent plaque screwed to the side of the frame. Cap on top of Eagle head unscrews to reveal a ball and cap trap. Barrel unscrews for ease of loading. 15 1/2" overall length. Manufactured circa 1852. This piece is marked serial number 76 in 4 places, on the side below the eagle head, on both the trigger and hammer, and also on the front screw off barrel on the inside. It is a beautiful piece of firearms curiosa in very fine condition.
