Maker: Simeon North - Middletown CT.
This 1816 conversion has a JN - John Newbury barrel, and LS Luther Sage stamped cartouche on the stock. It is converted to percussion with a side drum with a unusual clean out screw. I have not seen another conversion quite like this one. The Ramrod appears original. Simeon North built 19374 of these pistols in Middletown CT from 1817 to 1820. This is the "early" lock plate style. All of the parts are correctly stamped and marked in the right places, screws, and bolt heads, back strap, etc. A nice conversion from flintlock to percussion, with all correct markings from a scarce inspector. JN marked barrels are hard to find in either flint or percussion. A very interesting conversion.
